A Woman's Choice? Abortion is MURDER!

Updated: Dec 9, 2024

Alright, folks, buckle up because today we’re tackling a serious topic—abortion. The world tells us that it's a "woman’s choice," that it’s a "right," that it’s something that just "has to be done." But when we look through the lens of Scripture, we see a different story. Today, I want to share why abortion is murder, why life begins at conception, and why God’s creation is being satanically targeted in this twisted practice.

And before we get started, I want to make sure we’re on the same page. I’m not here to condemn anyone who’s been through an abortion. God’s grace covers all sins. But I am here to speak the truth in love—because the truth will set us free!

Life Begins at Conception

Let’s start with the basics: Life begins at conception. Now, I know that’s a controversial statement, especially in today’s world, but it’s as clear as day in God’s Word. In Psalm 139:13-16, David says,

“For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Think about that for a second—God is knitting you together in your mother’s womb! The moment that sperm and egg come together, that is the beginning of a unique human life. And God doesn’t make mistakes. That tiny zygote is not a mistake, it’s a masterpiece. From the very first moment, God’s hands are at work.

In Jeremiah 1:5, God says, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” He didn’t wait until you were born to start caring about you, or until you were a toddler or teenager. He knew you before you were even a twinkle in your parents’ eyes. Life starts long before the baby is born.

Satan’s Target: God’s Creation

So, what’s really going on here? Why is this issue such a hot topic? The answer is simple: Satan hates life. It’s really that basic. The devil has always been about destruction, chaos, and death. When you look at abortion, you’re seeing a direct attack on God’s creative power.

Every time a life is taken before it even has a chance to live, the enemy is celebrating. That’s why we see such a push for abortion in our society—it’s not just a political issue, it’s a spiritual one. It’s about the enemy trying to destroy God’s creation. But here’s the truth: You cannot defeat God’s plan. He’s already won.

We can’t let ourselves be blinded by the world’s rhetoric. The devil doesn’t want you to see the preciousness of life. He wants to dehumanize those who are still in the womb. But we know better. We know that each baby is a child of God, a unique creation with a purpose.

Justifications for Abortion: “I’m Not Ready” or “It’s Because of Rape”

Now, let’s talk about the justifications people use for abortion—because it’s a hard issue. One of the most common reasons people give is, “I’m not ready to be a parent,” or “I can’t afford a baby.” Now, I get it. Life is tough, and being a parent is no walk in the park. It’s like jumping into a pool of cold water—you’re not always ready for the shock, but once you’re in, you adjust, and you learn, and God gives you strength to keep swimming.

Here’s the deal: The answer to a difficult situation is not to kill an innocent life. God promises in Romans 8:28,

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

Even in the tough times, even when we don’t know how we’re going to make it, God can take what the devil meant for evil and turn it into something beautiful.

Maybe you didn’t plan for that pregnancy. Maybe it wasn’t in the cards. But I promise you this: God can use that child to change your life in ways you can’t even imagine.

And then there’s the hardest justification—the one that hits a lot of people deeply: abortion after rape. Look, I want to be sensitive here because this is a horrible, traumatic situation. No one should ever experience such violence. But here’s the thing: The baby is not the perpetrator. The baby didn’t do anything wrong. And that child—though conceived in an awful circumstance—still has purpose.

We cannot punish the innocent for the sins of the father. That baby deserves a chance at life, just like any other child. And though the pain from the rape is real and devastating, God can bring healing in a way that no other solution can. In Isaiah 61:3, God says He will give us a “crown of beauty instead of ashes,” and that includes healing from deep trauma.

The Seriousness of Murder

Now, I know the word "murder" is a heavy one. It’s uncomfortable to think about. But the reality is that abortion is taking a life. When you end the life of an unborn child, you are committing murder. Exodus 20:13 tells us, “You shall not murder.” It’s pretty straightforward.

But it’s also a reminder that there’s grace for those who have been through abortion. Jesus’ blood covers all sins, including abortion. If you’ve had an abortion, or been involved in one, God is ready to forgive. The cross is big enough to cover all sin, and no matter how deep the shame, Jesus’ love is deeper still. Repentance is the key. Turning away from sin and turning back to God, knowing that He will forgive and restore.

Roe v. Wade: The Power of Redemption and Transformation

Now, let me take a moment to talk about something significant in the history of abortion in America—Roe v. Wade. You’ve probably heard of it. It was the landmark Supreme Court case in 1973 that legalized abortion in the United States. The woman at the center of the case, "Jane Roe," was Norma McCorvey, and her story is one of profound transformation.

Norma McCorvey, the woman behind Roe v. Wade, didn’t set out to be a symbol for abortion rights. At the time, she was in a tough spot, living in circumstances that led her to make the decision she did. But what you might not know is that years after her role in the case,

Norma McCorvey experienced a radical transformation. She found Jesus Christ.

Yes, you heard me right. The woman who once fought for the right to abortion, later gave her life to Jesus Christ and became a born-again Christian. She publicly stated that she regretted her involvement in the Roe v. Wade decision, and later became a strong pro-life advocate. Can you imagine the powerful turnaround that must have been? From advocating for abortion to passionately standing for life.

In interviews before her death in 2020, she spoke about how she found forgiveness in Christ and how Jesus healed her brokenness. She went from being part of the largest decision that legalized abortion to being a witness of God’s transforming grace. If God can take someone like Norma, and redeem her story, He can do the same for anyone. Her story is a beautiful example of the fact that it’s never too late to turn to God.

And friends, that’s what grace is all about! It’s never too late for anyone to repent, seek forgiveness, and walk in the new life that Christ offers. Whether we’ve made choices we regret, or if we’ve been a part of something that we now realize was wrong, God is in the business of turning things around.

As much as Norma McCorvey's involvement in Roe v. Wade influenced the abortion debate, her new life in Christ is what matters the most. That’s what we should focus on—her redemption, her new heart, and the fact that she was able to boldly declare that Jesus Christ, not politics, is the answer.

God’s Forgiveness for Those Who Have Had an Abortion

Now, I know that for some of us, this is a painful subject. Maybe you’ve had an abortion, and hearing these words makes your heart ache. Maybe you’ve carried the shame, guilt, and regret, wondering if there’s any hope for you. Well, let me tell you this—there is always hope with Jesus.

I want you to know something today: God’s grace is bigger than your mistakes. His love is deeper than the shame you might feel. If you’ve had an abortion, God is not here to condemn you. Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world, He came to save it. John 3:17 tells us, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Jesus’ blood covers all sin—including abortion. There’s no sin too big, no mistake too far gone, for God’s forgiveness to reach. Romans 8:1 says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” When you bring your sin to God, when you genuinely repent and turn to Him, He forgives you. He cleanses you from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 promises,

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

So, if you’ve had an abortion, bring it to God. Lay it at His feet. He already knows what happened, but He wants to hear from you. He’s waiting to wash you clean, to restore you, and to heal the brokenness in your heart. You do not have to carry that burden any longer.

Let me be clear: God’s forgiveness is not conditional. He doesn’t say, “Well, if you do X, Y, and Z, then I’ll forgive you.” No. He offers forgiveness freely to all who ask. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was more than enough to cover the weight of your sin, no matter how heavy it feels.

And remember this—your past does not define you. You are defined by who you are in Christ. The enemy wants you to stay stuck in guilt and shame, but God wants to heal you, restore you, and make you whole again. He wants to give you a future filled with purpose, peace, and joy.

So, if you’re sitting here today with the weight of regret from a past abortion, know that God’s grace is sufficient. His love for you is unchanging. You are not too far gone. Your story is not over. The best is yet to come.

Conclusion: Life is Sacred, and So is Your Choice

So, here’s the deal: Life is sacred, and we don’t get to decide when it starts or ends. God does. It’s not about your “choice” anymore; it’s about God’s will. He’s the giver of life, and He has a plan for every single baby He creates. Our job is to honor His plan, protect His creation, and trust that He can take what we may think is a mess and turn it into something beautiful.

Let’s pray,

“Lord, we come to You with heavy hearts today. We ask for forgiveness for the times we’ve devalued life, for the times we’ve chosen death instead of life. Lord, we know You are the Creator, and every life is precious in Your sight. We pray for those who are struggling with decisions about abortion, that they would feel Your peace, Your wisdom, and Your love. We pray for the unborn, that You would protect them and raise up a generation that values life and honors You. Thank You for Your grace and forgiveness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

God's love is so much greater than any of the mistakes we’ve made. And today, if you’ve repented and turned to Him, you can walk forward knowing that you are forgiven, loved, and restored in His sight.
