Cosmic Shenanigans: Why God is the Ultimate Science Project

Updated: Dec 9, 2024

Introduction

Let’s get real for a second. Have you ever looked at a painting and thought, “This just randomly showed up on the canvas”? Or walked by a building and said, “Wow, I bet this just happened by accident”? Of course not! You know a painting has a painter. You know a building has a builder. So why do people look at creation—at YOU—and say, “This all just came out of nowhere”?

Let’s dive into why the Bible’s truth about creation blows all these other ideas—like evolution, reincarnation, and my personal favorite the Big Bang— out of nothing.

Nothing Only Produces…Nothing

Here’s a basic fact: nothing doesn’t produce anything. Nothing can’t think, act, or create. So when someone tells you the universe came from “nothing,” you might want to hand them a dictionary and ask them to look up the word.

Think about the Big Bang theory. For a “bang” to happen, you need three things: time, space, and matter. But where did those come from? You can’t get them out of thin air—unless, of course, you have Someone outside of time, space, and matter to put it all together. Enter God. Genesis 1:1 says it plain and simple:

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

No guessing games, no accidents, no chaos—just God speaking everything into existence.

You’re No Random Puzzle Piece

Now let’s talk about YOU. Did you know your DNA is so unique that no one else in history has ever had your exact genetic makeup? Your fingerprint is one of one—totally custom. You’re like a puzzle piece that could only fit where God designed you to fit.

If you were just a random accident, how do you explain that level of precision? Randomness doesn’t create masterpieces. You were carefully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” That’s God telling you, “You’re not a mistake—you’re my work of art.”

If someone tells you life is random, ask them this: How many random things have you seen turn into something amazing? Imagine dumping a box of puzzle pieces onto the floor and waiting for them to assemble themselves. You’d be waiting forever!

The same goes for your body, your mind, and your soul. The intricate details of how you’re made—the way your heart beats, your lungs breathe, and your brain thinks—scream design, not chance. And if you’re designed, then you have a Designer.

Evolution: Monkeys and Fairy Tales

Now, let’s talk evolution. Evolution says humans came from monkeys. But let’s think this through. Have you ever seen a monkey turn into a human? I didn’t think so. And no, giving it “millions of years” doesn’t make it any more believable. Time doesn’t perform miracles.

The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:27 that God created humans in His image. Not in the image of a monkey. Not after millions of trial-and-error experiments. God made Adam and Eve, fully formed, fully human, and fully loved. Evolution tries to sell you the idea that you’re just a cosmic accident, but the Bible tells you that you were created with purpose and care by a loving Creator.

If evolution were true, we should have plenty of evidence of transitional forms—half-monkey, half-human creatures, or fish turning into amphibians. Yet, the fossil record doesn’t show this. Sure, there are claims about “missing links,” but they remain missing for a reason. You can’t find what doesn’t exist.

Complexity Demands a Creator

Look at the human body. Your DNA is a literal code—3 billion letters long in every cell of your body. Codes don’t write themselves. If I told you I found a fully written book in the woods and claimed the wind and rain “randomly” put the words together, you’d laugh. But that’s essentially what evolutionists want us to believe about DNA.

Even Charles Darwin himself admitted a problem with his theory. He wrote:

“To suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances…could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.”

If the complexity of the eye stumped Darwin, imagine the rest of the human body. Evolution can’t explain it. Creation can.

Past Lives and Reincarnation: A Cycle That Goes Nowhere

Reincarnation—the idea that after death, you’re reborn into another life—might sound nice to some. It promises endless “do-overs.” But this belief crumbles when you compare it to logic and Scripture.

The Math Doesn’t Add Up

Let’s think practically. If reincarnation were true, we should have the same number of living beings now as in the past, just shuffled into new forms. But the world’s population has exploded—from a few million to over 8 billion people today. Where did all these new souls come from? The math doesn’t work.

Memory Wipe Problem

If you’ve supposedly lived countless past lives, why can’t you remember them? Reincarnation believers claim that we forget our past lives during rebirth. But if you can’t remember, how can you possibly “learn” from your mistakes or “progress” to enlightenment? It’s like going to school, but your teacher erases your brain every day before class.

It Contradicts the Bible

It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27)

You don’t get an infinite loop of lives to figure things out. You get one life, one opportunity to respond to God’s grace, and then eternity. Reincarnation denies this truth and cheapens the work of Jesus on the cross.

Think about it: If people can improve themselves over countless lives, why would we need a Savior? Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished” (John 19:30). He didn’t come to give us an endless cycle of lifetimes to figure it out—He came to pay the price for our sins once and for all.

Reincarnation and Evolution Both Deny Your Value

Here’s the big problem with both these ideas: They tell you that you’re nothing special. Evolution says you’re just a glorified monkey. Reincarnation says you’re stuck in an endless cycle of trial-and-error. Both of these deny the truth that YOU were made by a loving Creator who designed you with care and intention.

The Bible tells us:

• You were made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27).

• You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

• God knows every detail about you—even the number of hairs on your head (Luke 12:7).

Neither evolution nor reincarnation can give you that kind of value.

Trust the Creator, Not the Counterfeits

Evolution says you’re just a random accident of nature. Reincarnation says you’re stuck in a cosmic hamster wheel. But the Bible says you are a masterpiece, crafted by the Creator of the universe for a purpose.

So the next time someone tries to tell you that you’re an evolved monkey or that you’ve lived a thousand lives before this one, ask them this:

• How can chaos produce something as intricate as DNA?

• How does a monkey randomly turn into a human?

• If I’m on life number 647, why don’t I remember life 646?

The Bible has the answers. It shows us a God who created us with love, who gave us one life to live for His glory, and who offers us eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. That’s not random—that’s divine design.

Even Atheists Speak God’s Name

Here’s something mind-blowing: whether people believe in God or not, they speak His Name every single day. Even atheists, who claim there’s no God, declare His existence without even realizing it. Let me explain.

In the Bible, God’s Name is revealed to Moses as YHWH—commonly pronounced as “Yahweh.” It’s often translated as “I AM,” meaning God is eternal, self-existing, and the source of all life. But here’s the incredible part: YHWH is designed to mimic the sound of breathing.

Say it slowly—“Yah-weh.” Doesn’t it sound like a breath in and a breath out? God’s Name is literally tied to the act of living. From the moment you’re born and take your first breath, you’re speaking His Name. When you sigh in relief or gasp in surprise, you’re declaring His Name. Even in death, as your final breath leaves your body, you whisper His Name one last time. Psalm 150:6 says,

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!”

And guess what? It’s not optional—it’s built into you.

Atheists Can’t Escape It

Now think about this: an atheist might spend their entire life denying God, but every single breath they take still declares His Name. They may say, “There is no God,” but their lungs and lips are proclaiming YHWH as long as they’re alive.

Every inhale and exhale is a testimony to the Creator who gave them life. Their very existence proves what Romans 1:20 says: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

You Can’t Deny What’s Built Into You

It’s like trying to argue there’s no sun while standing in its light. You can claim you don’t believe, but the evidence is all around you—and even in you. Your breath declares it. Your heartbeat testifies to it. Your body, with its intricate design, screams it.

Whether you’re a believer, an atheist, or somewhere in between, every breath speaks YHWH’s Name. That’s the power of the Creator—you can’t outrun Him because He’s woven into the very fabric of your being.

The Name Above Every Name

“At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)

Whether you acknowledge Him now or not, every person will one day bow before Him. But why wait? If your breath already declares His Name, let your heart and mind do the same. Recognize the Creator who gave you life, and give Him the praise He’s due.

Even if the world denies God, their every breath whispers the truth: YHWH, the eternal “I AM,” is real.

Conclusion

Here’s the bottom line: You’re here for a reason. You weren’t an afterthought. God made you, on purpose, for a purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 says,

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

All those other ideas—evolution, reincarnation, or the Big Bang—try to take God out of the picture. But when you remove God, you’re left with chaos and confusion. When you keep God in the picture, you see the masterpiece He’s been painting all along. And guess what? You’re a part of it.

So the next time someone tries to tell you that life is random, that you’re just a highly-evolved monkey, or that everything came from “nothing,” remember this: Nothing doesn’t produce anything. Creation has a Creator. And you’re no accident—you’re God’s masterpiece.

Now go live like the one-of-a-kind, divinely designed, purpose-filled human God made you to be!
